Memphis Grizzlies promote Greg Campbell to President of Business Operations

Memphis, May 15, 2008 – Memphis Grizzlies Majority Owner Michael Heisley has announced the promotion of Greg Campbell to President of Business Operations for the Grizzlies. Campbell has been with the organization since 2004 as the Vice President of Finance.
“Since the resignation of Andy Dolich, Greg has distinguished himself and done an outstanding job of leading the business side of the Grizzlies along with Executive Vice President of Business Operations Mike Redlick and Senior Vice President of Arena Operations and Entertainment Steve Zito,” said Heisley. “With twenty years of professional sports experience and four years in Memphis, Greg is the perfect candidate to lead the business operations of the organization.”
In his new position, Campbell will oversee all aspects of the organization’s business operations, including arena operations, broadcasting, community investment, corporate partnership, finance, human resources, marketing, and ticket sales and service.
Campbell has been involved in professional sports for twenty years and has an extensive background in roles primarily associated with finance. He has held positions with NBA, NHL, AFL and CFL teams and been involved in overseeing ticket sales, box office, office administration and team operations. He graduated from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada in 1984 with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, with a specialization in Sports Administration. Campbell also serves on the Board of Directors for the Memphis Food Bank.

The most important part of my new responsibilities will be to communicate the progress that we make each day to the ownership group and ensure that we are prepared for the start of the season,” said Campbell. “Along with Gene Bartow, Chris Wallace, Mike Redlick and Steve Zito we will work as a team to make sure we are continuing to develop strong customer and community relationships in Memphis and throughout the Mid-South. We know that our staff is unmatched by any other organization in the country and we will continue to bring outstanding entertainment value to the Grizzlies and FedExForum.”
