Memphis, June 4, 2008 – Parents looking to keep their kids active during the summer can sign them up for the Grizzlies Summer Hoops Camps.
The camps are open to boys and girls ages 6-14 of all skill levels and experience, and focus on the basic fundamentals of shooting, passing, rebounding, defense and ball handling, as well as daily life skills sessions. The camps emphasize fun, fitness and skill development in a friendly, constructive environment.
There are three camps scheduled for this summer: The first is June 23-27 at the Fogelman YMCA. This camp will run from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. daily, and the cost for this camp is $200.
The second camp is scheduled for July 14-18 at Riverdale Elementary School. The camp will run from 9 a.m. – Noon daily, at a cost of $150.
The final camp is scheduled for August 4-8 at FedExForum. This camp will run from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. daily, and the $220 registration fee will also cover a reversible jersey, camp report card, a certificate of completion and a tour of the Grizzlies’ locker room at FedExForum.
All campers will receive a pair of tickets to a Grizzlies home game during the 2008-09 season, a camp t-shirt, a camp basketball and additional Grizzlies prizes and memorabilia. They’ll also have the opportunity to meet Grizzlies players and staff.
